'Guys And Dolls' Tour, Liverpool - June 2007

🦋 This week in June 2007 Darius was appearing in ‘Guys And Dolls’ at the Liverpool Empire.

Darius spoke about appearing in the show to the Liverpool Daily Post during rehearsals: “The dancing has been the biggest challenge – I’m learning lots of new moves that I never knew were in me. Surprisingly, my profession as a performer has never included 1940s dancing so that’s been a wonderful new hurdle to conquer,” he laughed “I think, as an actor, you have to find those attributes you can most identify with within the character you are playing. For me, it’s Sky’s fearlessness and his sense of adventure – these are things that my parents would say about me.” ​

Darius also spoke to the MerseyMart to talk about following some famous footsteps in the role and said: “I saw Ewan McGregor play Sky about 18 months ago when he was getting a bit disillusioned with the whole Hollywood thing and he was amazing. It was hugely flattering when they showed interest in me playing him. I wasn’t able to at first as I was busy recording in LA. It’s a big honour to be playing this role with such a history of great actors who have filled the shoes, but I have decided I won’t let that overwhelm me.”
